The
New Software
Things
are looking decidedly soft and pretty
on the fashion front this season - as
Spring/ Summer 2007 embraces women's
femininity on a variety of different
levels. Fluid lines encapsulate every
look, from billowy smock dresses, to
easy-on-the-eye 1950s style dresses.
You will find gentle gathers and fullness
just about everywhere, and the versatility
of the new shortie tunic tops - which
can be worn over leggings and pants -
will become a wardrobe staple for every
age group.

Make
It Monochrome
In fashion terms,
black and white is a perennial favourite,
because the colour combination is always
striking, and its appeal is as broad
as its use. The grown up story is that
it’s a colour combo that can convey
classic summer style, fresh and sophisticated
- and easy to wear. On the other hand
bold geometric prints, all-over swirls,
stripes and spots have a much younger
vibe, and will always create an impact
as daywear, or something dressier. |

Perfect
Print
Big news for this
season and a story that’s hard
to miss, as you’ll find allover
prints popping up everywhere on girlish
smock frocks, skirts, shirts and floaty
dresses. Summer prints take many forms
and colourways - from the cutest feminine
florals, to 1970s geometric wall paper
type print and also a strong folksy print.
Whichever way you turn print is going
to be a huge story for Spring/Summer. |

Brilliant
Colour
Everywhere you
look there are fabulous colours around
for Spring. Ultramarine is the hot shade
to wear if you feel brave enough, and
a surge of daffodil yellow is the other
top favourite. Head to toe colour needs
confidence, but you can always pick up
on the trend by choosing to inject small
bursts of strong colour with less dynamic
shades. |
