Family Photo at Parkgate
brings community together

One of the area’s major shopping destinations assembled many of the local organisations and community groups that it works with to celebrate the first year of its Community Support programme. It took the form of a “Family” Photograph, and the Mayor and Lady Mayoress joined in this show of civic pride and achievement.

Among those represented were:
 
Rotherham United FC -  Parkgate was a major sponsor for the 2007/8 season, has increased its sponsorship for the next 2 seasons as the club puts its recent difficulties behind it and looks forward to a successful 2008/9 season.

Safe@Last - Parkgate hosted a Charity Sleep Out last October for this worthy organisation that looks after runaway children, and will be launching an even bigger event for 2008.

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice – Parkgate has supported the hospice’s first year with events and collections, and organises a successful monthly collection of unwanted or donated items on the park.
 
Studio Dance – The Dinnington based dance crew offer local people wonderful opportunities to express themselves, and do lots of community work. Parkgate is sponsoring their trip to the world championships in Las Vegas on August 2, and will be giving them a fitting send off on the 24th!

Guide Dogs – Parkgate is raising money to obtain and train a guide dog puppy, and will be announcing a charity walk from Leeds to Rotherham in aid of the charity.
