Parkgate Shopping has joined several other major local organisations as a main supporter of the “I Love Rotherham” campaign.
“I love Rotherham”, created and run by The South Yorkshire Community Foundation, is a charity that supports small local charities in the region that work on behalf of local groups, local causes, local people and local issues. They also have access to Government funding on the basis of the money they raise from local donations will be matched by money from the Government. Its purpose is to galvanise local people and local organisations into supporting 100s of local causes, and ensuring that the monies raised will stay in Rotherham.
Parkgate will also be staging a special ‘I Love Rotherham’ Day on Friday February 12, the last Friday before Valentines Day. It will involve some mega fund raising activities ranging from fancy dress to fun and games, taking in a mixture of sport and entertainment. Also expect a few surprises.
“We are delighted to be part of this very special campaign, and, don’t forget, for every pound we raise on the 12th, another pound will come from the Government, and it will all go to local charities,” says Parkgate Manager, Denis Copeland.
