Bags
Of Enthusiasm Ensure Bumper Donations To
Guide Dogs
Billy
Smith, the popular Operations Manager at Parkgate
Shopping in Rotherham, is well on the way towards
raising the £5000 required to
train a Guide Dog puppy thanks to a bumper effort
over Easter.
He led an enthusiastic group of bag packers, comprising local Rotherham Guide
Dogs’ volunteers and some of his friends and relatives, at the busy Morrison’s
Parkgate branch. Not only did they bring smiles and relief to customers, but
managed to raise over £2000.
Other events are already in place, and Billy is confident of reaching his target
well before the year end.
Kath Oldfield from Rotherham Guide Dogs expressed the admiration of all the local
volunteers when she said: “For someone who spends most of his working week
on the Park, to return in his free time over the Easter weekend and raise all
this money, Billy has become a true champion of our charity.”
