Parkgate Supports Local Business To Re-Establish After The Floods

Messy play has always been a popular activity at Rotherham’s Daisy Chain Childcare, but it all got a bit too real when the whole ground floor, kitchen and outdoor play area of the local nursery was flooded in June. Astonishingly the children were able to get back to play after only 9 days, albeit in temporary premises.

Parkgate Shopping, located very close to the Nursery, had its own problems with the floods, so now that the Nursery is back to normal, the management was delighted to help it publicise its reopening and continue with its fund raising for the NSPCC.

Jo Gomersall (in photo, right) and her colleagues from Daisy Chain were invited onto the park on Friday September 14,  and brought Noddy along as well to tell shoppers about its work. 3-year old Sarah and her mum Joanne were delighted to be singled out for the official photograph.

Denis Copeland, Park Manager, said: “Since the floods we realise local services need to tell people that they are now open for business, and we are pleased to support Daisy Chain in its activities.”
