Smart
Fund-Raising Start For Conisborough Charity
Girls
Sharon Waters and Carol Hemingway from Conisborough Health Centre have made
some very smart plans to raise £5000 for their chosen charity ‘Beating Bowel
Cancer'.
Later in the year the intrepid twosome will be undertaking a sponsored walk
along the Great Wall of China. But to get their fund-raising off to the most
stylish start, they are staging a fashion show next week (January 29) in
Conisborough appropriately named “Bottoms Up”.
The show will feature some fantastic new outfits from local stores and high
street names. Generous supporters include Strut Modelling Agency from
Sheffield, who supply the models, with the men wearing fashionable tuxedos
provided by Burtons at Parkgate Shopping.
Carol explains: “Bowel cancer is a terrible illness which has a devastating
effect on its sufferers and their families. Working in the Health Centre, we’re
very much at the front line of this illness and see only too often its
tragic consequences. We are determined to raise as much money as we can to
help in whatever way we can with alleviating pain for people, and cannot
thank individuals like Craig Wileman from Burtons enough for their support
and encouragement.”
The event takes place at Ivanhoe Centre in Conisborough on Tuesday 29
January at 7.30pm. Tickets at £3.50 can be obtained from Carol Hemingway at
Connisborough Health Centre on 01709 860 01
