A very anxious Denis Copeland waiting to be released.

Inside story on Bluebell Wood from Parkgate

When they learned that he was going to jail on December 6, friends of Denis Copeland, the popular manager at Rotherham’s Parkgate Shopping Park, did not know what to believe. Here though is the answer.

Denis, along with a small group of other local Bluebell supporters, has volunteered to participate in a fund raising “jailbreak” for the Hospice. He has even persuaded some of his friends and colleagues to contribute towards his bail – believed to be approaching four figures.

But he has one request to make to the thousands of shoppers to the Park, which will give him some pleasure whilst he sits in prison waiting for the bail to arrive.

“The Bluebell van has been coming to the Park on the first Wednesday of each month. Although people have been very generous in bringing unwanted possessions on the actual day or leaving them in our security office, we do have some way to go to meet our year-end target. And there is only one day left this year, Wednesday December 5! So please be ultra generous, and bring as much as you can before or on the day.”

More information can be obtained by calling Parkgate Shopping on 01709 780830.
