Parkgate doubles its takings for Bluebell

Parkgate Shopping Park’s new monthly “Bag It Up” initiative with the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is exceeding all expectations. Taking place on the first Wednesday of each month alongside the Park’s Management Block, the second collection last Wednesday (September 5) yielded nearly 150 bags, doubling the number collected during the van’s first visit on August 1.

“We are now well on target to raise the ambitious equivalent of £10,000 for the Hospice during the first year” says Park Manager, Denis Copeland.

Peter Bradley, Corporate Account Manager at Bluebell Wood comments:  “We are especially delighted with the quality of the contents of the bags that Parkgate shoppers are bringing, and this makes a real difference to the end result. This last collection even included a perfectly roadworthy bicycle and some furniture. Please keep up the good work.”

Shoppers are welcome to bring clothes, jewellery, toys, music, books are any other unwanted items, and spare Bluebell bags are available in the Parkgate Management and Security Centre alongside Marks and Spencer. The next collection date is Wednesday October 3.
