Santa
Pops Into Parkgate To Plan Christmas
Itinerary
Courtesy of Rotherham Lions Club, Santa
has called into the popular Parkgate Shopping
Park to plan his pre-Christmas visits.
And he was able to be photographed with
Parkgate Operations Manager, Billy Smith
alongside the new signs that have just
gone up to welcome visitors onto the Park.
The great man will be visiting the Park
over the weekend of the 8th and 15th December,
accompanied by his helpers from Rotherham
Lions. He will help Lions to raise valuable
funds for local groups and charities, as
well as for its Flood Appeal.

Santa soon attracted
a host of enthusiastic children during
his tour around the Park.
“Christmas
is the most important fund raising opportunity
for us, and we are deeply grateful to
Billy and his staff for all the support
we receive, says Lions President Peter
Machin.
Rotherham’s leading shopping attraction
is already counting down the days to Christmas.
Parkgate’s extended late night offer
starts on November 19 to 9pm every weekday
and it offers free parking adjacent to
the stores all year round.
“With the arrival on November 17
of River Island, 2007 promises to be the
busiest and brightest Christmas to date
on the Park, “says Park Manager,
Denis Copeland. “All the shops are
back trading strongly following some interruptions
after the flood.
“We are predicting that the winners
this year in the most popular present stakes
are likely to be Sat Navs, the new iTouch
iPod and Sony PS3. Top toys will
be Blanket Time Igglepiggle, Transformers,
the retro Doctor Who Dalek and the perennially
popular Barbie. Celebrity perfumes this
year includes new releases from Christina
Aguilera, Gwen Stefani and Katie Price
aka Jordan.
He adds: “Our
customers are telling us that with the
large choice of retailers, and easy access
and late shopping every night, they will
be making Parkgate their number one Christmas
shopping destination.”
In the run-up to Christmas there will
be some unbeatable offers and promotions
available in all the stores. During the
Christmas trading period weekday opening
hours are extended to 9pm on weekdays,
and 7pm on Saturdays. The Park is open
as normal 7 days a week, apart from Christmas
Day.
